Before and After Blog Hop

Reorganizing.

Well, if you haven't noticed already I have done a bit of reorganizing. Part of my goals for a lifestyle change was to pursue photography more and I've done just that. I was sort-of pushed in the direction of starting a company of my own because of an opportunity too big to pass up. I am still very much in the "infant" phase of this, and fully expect to grow and practice and get much, much better as time goes on. Since I have taken this step, and reached this part of my goal, though, I only thought it appropriate to give the photography thing the space and attention it deserves. If you are not here because you support me on this journey, but rather were here to read about my ups and downs in the weight loss department, you can still read about that at my personal blog, Laugh Until You Cry.

Here at BMP Photography - The Blog, I will share with you sneak peaks into photo shoots I do as they come up, but I will continue participating in blog hops and memes geared toward making my photos and skills better. I Heart Faces - Collages

This weeks challenge at I Heart Faces is to share a collage with everyone. It would've been so easy to do an adorable collage of my handsome little boy, but I wanted to do something a little different. Here is a sampling of the gorgeous flowers you can already see around my yard. Enjoy!

Here is this weeks original. Is this girl GORGEOUS or what?!

Brightened things up, cropped a little and brought out her eyes.

Edit 2:

Dramatic change to B&W. This girl has amazing eyes, so I wanted to make sure those stayed the focus.

Toned it down and added a little texture.

Bright and sharp and beautiful. This was a great picture to work with! I enjoyed myself, if you couldn't tell :-)

Before And After Blog Hop

Monica at Pixel Perfect does a blog hop on Thursdays that is called the "Before and After" blog hop. I enjoy it because I get to see the work of others as they edit their pictures and make them even more fantastic than they were to begin with. It really gets me practicing as well... as I work to hone in on my photo skills, both taking and editing.

This is a very dramatic edit for me personally, but in this case I think it works. I'm in love with the final result and just adore the vivid sunset colors.

Fix-It Friday

Its time for Fix It Friday! Hooray, I love this, and I love that its Friday. A win-win situation. :-)




Today's adorable picture is great. I love that this little girl is just staring right into the camera. Instead of my usual PSE, I tried playing with Lightroom. Its way different, but I think the results are good, so that is all that really matters. I'm not sure I'm in love with Lightroom yet, though.
